After five years of construction, 10,000 construction workers and 13 million man hours, Westfield London opened the doors of it's super chic £1.7 billion development in the heart of London yesterday.
Westfield London, with more than 280 speciality retailers (40 of which being luxury brands housed within The Village), five anchor stores and 47 places to eat at four different locations is one of Europe's biggest urban shopping malls.
Over 80 per cent of the retailers are fashion specialists who will fill six zones of fashion speciality including luxury, aspirational, urban chic, streetwear, kids and high street. The Village is anchored by Louis Vuitton and features a host of labels including Gucci, Tiffany & Co and De Beers.
Westfield London opened yesterday at 10:30am by Westfield's Mr Frank Lowy and Mayor of London Boris Johnson, and drew huge numbers of customers and journalists.

Tomorrow Westfield Figtree will open the doors with even more to love, with the completed $20 million redevelopment which began in February 2008.
This has seen Westfield Figtree centre size increase by 1,850sqm to an expanded 21,770sqm and created space for 22 new retailers. The new includes fashion stores Autograph, Katies and Tree of Life, plus others such as The Reject Shop and EB Games.
During the construction of the Westfield Figtree, sustainability was a focus and to achieve this, this team developed recycling methods for waste materials as well as fitting all new light fittings with energy efficient globes.
The ambiant upgrade has added new tiling throughout the entire centre, timber ceiling fans and lighting which will all work to make the centre appear much fresher and brighter - thus an even more enjoyable location to do your fashion shopping. Now what's not to love about that!
